A flat top chain, also called a table top chain or a top plate chain, is a single narrow strand of hinged plates. It comes in fixed plate widths and it is bought by length. That is the structural difference from a modular belt, which is built from modules to any width and is bought by area. If the two terms are getting mixed up in your enquiry, the terminology guide sorts them out.
Wide beds are built by running several strands side by side rather than by ordering a wider chain.

The plate widths are converted inch figures: 82.6 mm is 3.25 in, 114.3 mm is 4.5 in, 152.4 mm is 6 in. Elsewhere in the same family you will meet an 83.8 mm plate, which is 3.30 in. The gap is 1.2 mm and it decides which mould the parts come from, so measure rather than assume.
A chain conveyor is a system, and the chain is usually not the part that fails first. Wear strips, guide rails, finger transfer plates at the ends, return wheels and bearing bushings all wear, and a rebuild needs them listed. The full ordering list is in the flat top chain parts list.
No. The 820 is straight running. A curve needs a side flexing chain in a guided bend with wear strips on both sides, and the layout rules are in side flexing chain turn radius and layout.
Plate width, total length in metres, straight or side flexing, material, and whether sprockets and idler wheels are included. If the chain is a replacement, the plate width measured with a caliper matters more than the number on the old order.
POM is harder and wears better under sliding contact, which suits high speed container handling. PP handles a wider range of cleaning chemistry. Tell us what the line carries and how it is cleaned and we will say which one we would run.
